INTENTION

"Color Perspective" is a contemplative exploration of the multifaceted nature of perspective and its profound impact on the viewer's engagement with the photographic medium. Within this series, I delve into the captivating concept that human identity remains elusive when confined to the boundaries of a single, static image.

RESEARCH TOPIC

In my artistic journey, I traverse the intricate terrain that encircles my primary subjects, capturing their essence from diverse angles and vantage points. This results in an amalgamation of images, a tapestry of perspectives, all focused on a singular individual. These individual fragments of perception are then meticulously interwoven onto a single lenticular printing card, a canvas that conceals a mesmerizing secret.

For those who engage with these artworks, a fascinating revelation awaits. By simply inverting each card along its vertical axis, viewers are transported into a realm of duality, where two distinct yet intimately connected photographs emerge. Each individual tableau, frozen in the stillness of time, imparts a profound sense of stasis. Yet, hidden within these seemingly isolated moments are intricate narratives, and intricate threads of connection that come to life as one transitions seamlessly from image to image.

"Color Perspective" invites contemplation not only of the frozen moments captured within each frame but also of the dynamic interplay between them. It is an exploration of the essence of perception itself—a journey where the act of viewing becomes an integral part of the narrative, revealing the depth and complexity that lie beneath the surface of each image.

TECHNOLOGY

Lenticular printing, a technique that creates the illusion of depth or motion in printed images, can have a significant impact on the role of perspective in film photography. Here are several ways in which lenticular printing influences perspective in this context:

Enhanced Depth and Dimensionality: Lenticular prints can add a sense of depth and three-dimensionality to flat, two-dimensional photographs. This impact on perspective allows viewers to perceive scenes as more immersive and realistic, as if they are peering into a multi-layered world. This can be particularly effective in film photography when trying to convey a sense of space and depth within a static image.

Dynamic Perspective Shift: Lenticular prints can create the illusion of dynamic perspective shifts as viewers move or change their angle of view. This effect can be used to simulate changes in perspective within a single photograph, enhancing the storytelling potential of film photography. It allows photographers to guide viewers' attention to different elements of the scene, creating a more interactive and engaging experience.

Narrative Progression: In film photography, narrative progression often relies on a sequence of images to convey a story. Lenticular printing can facilitate this by allowing multiple images to be combined into a single print. As viewers tilt or move the print, they can experience a shift in perspective that mimics the passage of time or a change in viewpoint. This can be a powerful storytelling tool, enabling photographers to explore complex narratives within a single frame.

Experimental Perspectives: Lenticular printing opens up opportunities for photographers to experiment with unique and unconventional perspectives. They can capture a subject from various angles and incorporate these perspectives into a single print, challenging viewers to explore the subject from different vantage points. This can lead to innovative and thought-provoking compositions in film photography.

Viewer Engagement: Lenticular prints encourage viewer engagement and interaction. Viewers become active participants in the photographic experience as they manipulate the print to explore different perspectives and details. This interactive element can deepen the viewer's connection to the image and enhance their understanding of the photographer's intent.

Visual Impact: Lenticular prints can create striking visual effects that grab the viewer's attention. The play of perspective, depth, and motion can make an image stand out and leave a lasting impression, making it a valuable tool for photographers looking to convey a strong visual message in film photography.
